The amphitheater in the XXII Aprile park was reopened and returned to the people of Modena after the renovation of the floors, flowerbeds, seats and steps, as well as the path inside the park on the north-south axis, adjacent to the lagoon, between via Attiraglio and the amphitheater, worth 370 thousand euros. And now this part of the city offers a new multisport field, suitable for the practice of different disciplines and events, as well as a youth meeting point. The intervention, like the other three already completed at the XXII Aprile park relating to the creation of an outdoor biomarket, the lighting adaptation and the strengthening of video surveillance to integrate the city system, which also involved the entire surrounding area, is was financed with resources allocated by Pinqua, the national innovative program for the quality of living within the Pnrr (the national recovery and resilience plan), developed by the Municipality with the Next Generation Modena programme. In detail, in the structures of the amphitheatre, the flowerbeds and the reinforced concrete seats, built about 40 years ago, the damaged parts were demolished, hydrocleaning was carried out and substances that inhibit the oxidation of the irons were applied, to then be rebuilt. and restore the demolished parts, waterproofing and protecting the surfaces with mortar. The basketball court in the center of the amphitheater has been renovated and improved: the new court is larger than the previous one and has a total regulation size of 30×18 and can therefore be used for sporting events, as well as for various disciplines: volleyball, five-a-side football , basketball. The cast-in-place rubber mat ensures resistance to atmospheric agents and high durability, while the anti-trauma flooring between the sports field and the bleachers improves the safety of the entire infrastructure. Finally, access to the pitch and vision have been improved, thanks to the inclusion of an access ramp to the terraces to eliminate architectural barriers.
