New and modern experience from today to Sunday, with the ‘Riviera Food Festival’ which will once again shine under the spotlight in the suggestive Villa Ormond in Sanremo, after a ten-year wait. The new edition, with free entry, is ready to relaunch the Festival which celebrates the gastronomic excellences of the Ligurian Riviera and beyond, together with lots of music for everyone.
The dates and place are certainly not random because today is the summer solstice with the longest and brightest days of the year, also marking the beginning of the summer season in the park of Villa Ormond, one of the most beautiful in Sanremo. Every corner of the Villa, from the historic Winter villa, now home to the Floriseum Flower Museum, to the lush gardens, becomes part of a journey through the flavors and knowledge of Italian cuisine, up to the heart of this stupendous Villa in an itinerary full of flavors and emotions.
But the “Riviera Food Festival” is much more than a simple tasting of delicacies. It is an invitation to experience the culture of food in all its forms, from the thematic rooms on the first floor with a wonderful presentation of basil, which will highlight the best of Ligurian production, to the specialties of the Lombard and Piedmont valleys, to the Conference space, where they will be able to learn about secrets and new products such as the new “Fiori di Sanremo ®” in the food world. Not to forget the external space of the Villa, called Le Terrazze, transformed, for lunch and dinner, into a very particular bar and restaurant because it will draw directly on the products of the exhibitors present at the Riviera Food Festival.
Why stop at food? Sanremo in summer is synonymous with magical outdoor evenings that combine the unique flavor of freshly prepared culinary specialities, or some particular tasting, with the sound of live music, with our Live Band selections with Studio 54 (90s Disco ) on Friday, Rock & Blues Live Band (Tribute to Vasco, Zucchero and Ligabue) on Saturday evening, the DJ Set by Lyj Dj producer on Sunday evening.
The Riviera Food Festival also makes the conference space available to everyone, free of charge, for presentations and short films, obviously after a preliminary meeting and always giving priority to all those activities that are closest to the theme of the event. For example, at 4pm tomorrow and Sunday, the short film “The Little Girl Who Dances with the Bees” will be screened where we can then continue with a visit to the beekeepers with their educational hives. Sunday will be the turn of a special presentation of Fiori Eduli with Dr. Barbara Ruffoni, the presentation of the project and the first food product in the name of Fiori di Sanremo and the Flag-wavers and Musicians of Ventimiglia. But much more awaits you at Villa Ormond!
The Riviera Food Festival 2024 therefore promises to be an unmissable event, a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in Italian gastronomic traditions, in an atmosphere of celebration and sharing.
