The left prepares the barricades againstdifferentiated autonomy. After the controversies of the last few hours, with the opposition working for a repeal referendum, the Campania by Vincenzo De Luca is ready to put a spanner in the government’s wheels. The Region intends to present appeal to the Constitutional Court against the law finally approved yesterday morning at the end of a lengthy session in the Chamber of Deputies.
This is not a sensational surprise, at least compared to De Luca’s latest statements. If in 2019 the governor of Campania asked for the same autonomies as Veneto, Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna – as also testified by Luca Zaia – recently the representative of the Democratic Party had openly expressed his intention to appeal to the Consulta if the Calderoli reform had been converted into law. Publication in the Official Journal is awaited for the law to come into force for all purposes, but according LaPresse the legislative office of Campania is already working to put pen to paper the challenge of the reform.
Amid the tirades of Schlein and Conte, De Luca was among the most muscular administrators against autonomy. “No, it is not a fairer Italy nor a stronger Italy, it is an Italy at risk“yesterday’s speech by the former mayor of Salerno: “When we fight against differentiated autonomy, we Campania do it in the name of the South. We are the main enemies of the South of quackery, of chatter, of disadministration. We represent the South of administrative efficiency, of rigor in budget management and we are ready to accept the challenge of efficiency towards anyone”.
Among the critical issues cited by the president of Campania are the fiscal residue, the public health system, the school and the Lep. “The concrete perspective is this: whoever is rich will be richer, whoever is poor will be cursed forever and ever”, his sentence. Further updates coming soon.
