In the last 24 hours there have been two earthquakes recorded in Tuscany. In the list of the latest seismic events constantly updated by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the first shock was recorded to Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina in the province of Pisa.
Notified then this afternoon Thursday 20 June 2024 a earthquake shock on the island of Elbaheard throughout the coast of Tuscany and in the provinces of Livorno And Grosseto. Checks in progress with the regional system, At the moment there are no injuries or damage.

An earthquake of magnitude ML 1.7 it happened in area a 2 km North East of Castelnuovo di Val di Cecina (Lat. 43.2190, Lon. 10.8880) at a depth of 7km, at 10.33pm yesterday evening, Wednesday 19 June 2024. The earthquake was localized by INGV-Rome Seismic Hall.

The shock, although coming very close, still remained below warning threshold, i.e. 2.5 Richter magnitude.
