Both, defended by the lawyer Vincenzo Iorio, supported the lawfulness and legitimacy of the decisions with which the works were entrusted to the entrepreneur Gioacchino Rivetti.
Regarding the accusation of corruption, the suspects explained that they were linked to the owner of Corim and Rima srl by long-standing relationships and friendships and that they were small interventions of negligible value, even reciprocated in previous matters with similar methods , which cannot be correlated in any way with the assignment of the works and which therefore cannot be assessed as a consideration. Lawyer Iorio also raised the question of precautionary needs, especially for Porfidia who is a few months away from retirement and who, having a couple of months of vacation, may never return to his office in the V sector of the Municipality. There is neither the risk of repeating the crime nor the risk of tampering with the evidence. He asked for house arrest to be revoked for Christmas too.
