Giacomo Sergi’s feat, from Trapani to the Italian freediving record

After the legendary Enzo Mallorca here a new Sicilian freediving champion. His name is Giacomo Sergioriginally from Trapani, returning from an extraordinary feat with the conquest of the Italian record in variable height without tools. The depth reached from Sergi, last May 30th in the waters of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, is equal to -105.00 meterssurpassing the previous record set at -103.00, which from 2021 belonged to Vincenzo Ferri.

Ready for new challenges

And now it is also the time for the right honors for the record holder Giacomo Sergi, under the ASD Mediterranea, with a recognition received from the Municipality of Trapani. The Councilor for Sport, Emanuele Barbara, presented him with an official pennant, also recognizing the athlete as ambassador to the world of the entire Trapani area, through his sporting successes. The Sicilian freediver is in fact ready for new goals, after having achieved the goal of the Italian record: “It’s a goal I’ve dreamed of for a long timeand for whom I gave body and soul – he writes on Facebook – But now I only see it as a starting point for new challenges”.
