The policeman who was hit by a car this morning in Trani, in via Martiri di Palermo, suffered fractures to his lower limbs and skin lacerations while he was engaged in control services. The agent’s life is not in danger and he will get away with a 30-day prognosis. It was around 11 this morning when the policeman was hit by a car, a Skoda, driven by a 79-year-old man, under the bridge on state road 16 bis. According to the reconstruction, the officer was positioned on one side of the road and was checking a car, a BMW, which was in turn hit by the Skoda. The impact was quite violent, the policeman ended up on the windshield of the car. Two 118 health teams intervened on site. The injured officer was transported under code red to the “Bonomo” hospital in Andria. The 79-year-old, in a state of shock after the incident, was instead taken to the “Vittorio Emanuele II” hospital in Bisceglie under code green. The Carabinieri and the Local Police of Trani also intervened on site. With the officer who was hit there was a colleague, not injured but shaken by what happened. The exact dynamics need to be clarified, but it seems that the 79-year-old did not see the man in uniform. For investigations, there is a video surveillance camera, a short distance away, which may have filmed the scene.
