In Tuscany I’m coming 3 million euros for the next regional tender for the improvement of animal welfare on farms.
This was communicated by the Region itself after the Council approved the proposal of the Agri-food councilor Stefania Saccardi on the provisions for next announcement of the Complementing Rural Development 2023-2027.
The announcement will be addressed to all livestock breeders who wish raisethrough appropriate investments, the level of animal welfare beyond standard in use and beyond existing standards and will offer a contribution on the capital account of80% of the expenses incurred.
A contribution that can be increased at85% in case of small farms you hate young farmerssince the call also falls within the GiovaniSì framework, the instrument with which the Tuscany Region promotes youth employment.
The underlying objective is to support corporate investments to encourage theevolution of farming towards a more sustainable and ethical model that increases the well being of animals and the biosafetyalso through precision animal husbandry.
They can thus be financed investments is materialsaimed at improving biosecurity and raising the level of well-being, both immaterialwith the purchase of computer programs and digital tools for managing activities.
In particular, with the contributions made available it will be possible to finance interventions to adapt the supply of water and feedfor the care of animals and the improvement of housing conditionsto increase the availability of spacesurface and light natural in the stables, and for ensure access to the outside to the animals.
For Councilor Saccardi, this tender will allow Tuscany to position itself among the first Italian regions to offer very high standards of animal welfarean objective in which the Council has decided to invest and work hard.
A commitment due to the awareness that the adoption of farming systems that are increasingly respectful of animals translates into positive effectsas well as on Health of the different species bred, even onenvironment and on the safety of the consumers and, last but not least, on quality of livestock production.
