PERUGIA – He slipped on his motorbike along the A1 but in the crash he was hit by a truck that was behind him. The injuries sustained were too serious and Valter Nappini, a 61-year-old motorcyclist originally from Castiglione del Lago, died in hospital. Another tragedy on the roads affecting Umbria, which occurred yesterday morning around 7.30 on the Autostrada del Sole near Sasso Marconi, in the direction of Bologna.
According to initial reconstructions, Nappini would have lost control of his beloved motorbike, slipping on the asphalt with the driver of the heavy vehicle who literally found him between the wheels. The man would have even noticed it only after a few meters, stopping in a nearby lay-by and immediately calling for help. The injuries sustained by the motorcyclist were immediately found to be very serious and despite the rapid arrival of 118, he died shortly after arriving at the emergency room of the Maggiore hospital in Bologna. In the meantime, the stretch where the accident occurred, between Sasso Marconi and Sasso Marconi nord, was closed for about 30 minutes, with lines reaching 10 kilometers and with traffic police patrols also intervening to try to precisely reconstruct the dynamics of the accident. ‘mortal accident.
