Rome, day of study on forest fires.

A technical day of in-depth study on forest fires took place on 18 June in Rome, at the Operational Training School of the Fire Brigade, located in Montelibretti, in consideration of the hot season which has already begun.
The DOS (Extinguishing Operations Directors) training day was attended by officials from the National Fire Brigade and Civil Protection representatives from all over Italy.
In the presence of the commander of Montelibretti and the Lazio Regional Director, issues relating to forest fire prevention (AIB), safety in fire extinguishing operations, climatological and vegetation framework, climate change, drought indicators and more were addressed. Furthermore, the exchange of opinions and methodologies on how to best deal with forest fires by discussing them with the Helicopter and Canadair pilots of the Fire Brigade fleet, who in this period, as the State’s National Fleet, are located in several areas of our nation ensuring a more fast and effective fire extinguishing intervention assisted by ground teams and highly trained personnel, the DOS trained at the Lamezia Terme Educational Center over the last few years.
From Crotone there were two professional figures present: Fire Inspector Luzzaro Pasquale and DOS Team Leader (Director of Fire Extinguishing Operations), Francesco Lavigna.
