Salerno becomes a greener city: the city council approves the new trees

The gmunicipal council of Salerno yesterday approved the councilor’s proposal Massimiliano Natella relating to project of planting new trees financed by the Campania Region.

As already happened in 2022, the Campania region he proposed again financing for the planting of new trees with an increase in resources which go from €50,000 in 2022 to €123,000 for the three-year period 2023 – 2025.

The preliminary project – as reported today in the newspaper “The Chronicles” available online – was drawn up by the Public Green UOC and provides, as indicated by the General Directorate “Environment, Forests and Climate” of the Campania Region, the supply and planting of new trees to be placed in the city area.

The activity will be aimed at fill unadorned flowerbedsbut above all ad increase green areas of the city to combat climate change which is strongly perceived in densely urbanized areas.

In the coming months the Public Green UOC will prepare the consequent documents, with theidentification of the stree species and the evaluation of the areas of their new home which must be compatible with the existing trees, respectful of the distances from the buildings with a view to the future life perspective of the new plants.
