Cutting trains, the response given by Francesco Roberti, president of the Molise Region, is rejected by commuters on the Campobasso-Rome line. Roberti had stated: “We only rationalized it by saving 5 million euros, removing trains frequented by 10-20 travellers… for which there was an overlap of journeys between trains and transport through the bus replacement service”.
An answer that does not satisfy the commuters at all who reply to Roberti like this:
“Dear President,
if you cancel it completely the service can save up to 100%!
Who provided you with the data of 10-20 people on board those trains? We think no one could have provided you with such fake data (even Trenitalia). So?
What overlap of races are you talking about? There is no replacement bus service (Trenitalia to be clear) in those time slots and we hope you are not referring to the scheduled buses (ATM) because after 6.30 pm there are no services from Rome but above all, if it is the latter that he is referring to, he is talking about imposing the purchase of an additional season ticket on Molise commuters.
The 1.07pm and 2.35pm trains from Rome are also piled up, overlapping and useless for the users of our region… but you didn’t intervene there with rationing and so our doubt, without an answer, remains based on the fact that those trains mainly serve Lazio users heading to Cassino.
In short, President, I am sorry to note that you have been informed badly, very badly and we hope this is only due to the need for strenuous self-defence of what you have done (very badly) and not the attempt of someone who wanted to expose the first charge of the Region with statements that anyone can deny. In any case, this desire, which today you would like to make appear as a right and due choice for the Region, you should have exposed to the citizens at the time of the decision and the signing of the service contract, not today only after our intervention, like the children discovered to do some mischief.”
