Make Music – Faites de la Musique from Latin America to India

“Faites de la Musique” in which “faites” means “make music” but is pronounced like “fête” or “party”: the motto created by the French Ministry of Culture in 1982 when it launched the magnificent idea of inviting all those who had instruments locked in the cellar, to recover them and go out into the street to play or sing. Thus a party is born, a sort of flashmob of those who love making music and share it with a city, an opportunity to promote themselves and promote projects, meet other musicians, start collaborations. And in the meantime, music returns to the level of the people, along the streets, in the squares, outside the theaters. Today 120 European countries make music and participate in these dedicated days. In Todi, the non-profit association Centro Studi Della Giacoma APS has embraced this idea of ”making music” and since 2014 has ensured that the doors of the city are opened to musicians, dancers, music therapists and singers, young and old, who meet in Todi to share an important human experience.
