Ethnobotanical walks, nature workshops, theater and soap bubble shows and concerts, from African rhythms to Esterina, for the last weekend of “Forest Festival” of Compitese and Monte Pisanowhich will take place in Pieve and Sant’Andrea di Compito (Capannori) Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June 2024. It is organized by the community cooperative Centro Culturale Compitese, with the patronage of the Municipality of Capannori, the media partnership of Controradio and in collaboration with more than 30 local entities.

There are more than 40 events scheduled for the weekend, with food stands always open at the Compitese Cultural Center, with vegetarian menus and mixed grills (all zero kilometer products). It will be possible to go and discover the wild and spontaneous herbs with the agronomist Maurizio Gioliparticipate in the workshops of XTerra collective (with the “naturalist’s notebook”, forest sampling and affective ecology) and discover ancient crafts, such as making wood-fired bread (with the agricultural companies “I Seminanti” of San Miniato and “Alle Camelie” of Compitese) or the broom grenade.

There will be no shortage of in-depth cultural moments, with the presentation of three books: “The sense of nature. Seven Paths to the Earth” (ed. Sellerio) of the philosopher Paolo Pecere (historian of thought and professor at Roma Tre University), who will dialogue with the writer Francesca Matteoni and the sociologist Riccardo Pensa; “But can the forest be cut down or not? A naturalist/forester in the forests of Tuscany” (ed. Compagnia delle Foreste) by Andrea Bernardininaturalist and director of the Cerbaie Forestry Consortium, who will talk about it with Maurizio Meucci, president of the Monte Pisano Forest Community; and finally “The rock carvings of Monte Pisano. Guide to the archaeological site of Monte Cotrozzi” with the authors Gabriele Panigada And Giancarlo Saniin dialogue with the anthropologist Fabio Malfatti.

The. will also be celebrated at the Festival St. John’s night, which precedes the anniversary of the nativity of Saint John the Baptist, on 24 June each year. A theatrical performance by the Verdifole group is scheduled (“Night of San Giovanni, on the walnut road”) and an experiential path, with a walk, for the realization of theSan Giovanni waterwith the psychologist and Bach flower consultant, Claudia Soldatich.

To the traditional ones laboratories on the games of the past, on puppets, on readings in nature and on the world of insects, this time we also add that on soap bubbles (with Fabio Saccomani). Then space for well-being with yoga in nature, demonstrations of martial arts And forest diving, with life&nature coach Federica Pisani. Finally, walks could not be missing (like the one at Gherardesca lake together with the biologist Arianna Chinesfor an event organized in collaboration with Legambiente Capannori and Piana Lucchese and WWF Alta Toscana) and trekking with the mountaineer Andrea Lanfri (Monte Pisano trail) and the walk around the village along the Montecuccoli ring.

In addition to donkey rides and exhibitions to visit (from the sculptures of Diego Scarpellini to the photos of Andrea Massagliof the Compitese photographic group and of the exhibition “Capannori, beauty everywhere”), there will be space for social events with interactive demonstrations and games for children in the Lucca section of the Okay (forest fire surveillance).

Two i concerts scheduled: “Barefoot on the earth, rhythms and dances from Africa” edited by Jellicle Afro Group (22 June) with choreography by Alessandra Lorenzi and live music with Francesco Passaglia, Eric Provencel and Andrea Di Vita; and, on the closing day (23 June), there will be the rock of “Esterina”who will present their fifth album, “Provincial music”.

All public events of the “Festival del Bosco” are in free entry. For some experiential activities (trekking, courses, workshops) there is one participation fee and you need to register.
