The religious events that characterize the feast of Saint Peter the Apostle, patron saint of Modica, continue. After the neighborhood mass in via Toscano on Tuesday was well attended by the faithful and after last night’s initiative with the prayer vigil marked by the presence of the city’s Grest animators which was followed by the inauguration of the Pippo Giuca youth center , another significant moment will be tomorrow evening. “Thanks to the contribution of many and to common work – underlines the parish priest of the Mother Church, the priest Giuseppe Stella – at 8pm tomorrow we will present the restored canvas of the Adoration of the Magi by Domenico La Bruna dating back to 1739. A few months ago when we having inaugurated the exhibition on the Jesuits at the chapter house of our church, we have made a commitment, namely that of preserving the historical memory of the Jesuit Fathers of our city by taking care of the paintings kept in the Soccorso church and inserting them into a valorization process that could tell the work of the order in Modica. With this first restoration we hope to fulfill the commitment in question.”
