There are 77 individuals and companies – for a total of 44 cadastral parcels – who were expropriated in Nerviano in view of the realization of third and fourth tracks along the railway line between Rho and Parabiago, which also includes the creation of a new railway stop in Cantone. The mayor Daniela Colombo explained this in response to an interpellation presented by the League, the Nervianese Independent Group and Con Nervianowhich asked for an account of the «exact number of subjects involved in the Nerviano area» and urged the administration to «as a Municipality support the citizens and companies involved in the expropriations».
«All the owners, as also happened for the Municipality of Nerviano which has various areas under expropriation which essentially concern vegetable gardens, have received a communication asking them to provide Italferr with the elements to determine the value of the asset – underlined the first citizen -. They are almost all agricultural or forest land, there is only one case which should concern a shed. Italferr needs to start quickly and therefore occupy the land urgently: according to the timetable they expect to entrust the works by July».
«Following this letter he will leave quite quickly a new communication from RFI with which a so-called “without delay” compensation offer will be formulated, a technical term to indicate that an offer is made without a detailed check on the state of the places, and this is the reason why they ask the owners to provide information in advance regarding the land being expropriated. Owners can accept or decline: in any case the area will be occupied by RFI and a private negotiation will be opened to establish the appropriate value based on the arguments that will be provided. The process is clear on RFI’s part, just as the contacts that every company and private individual can contact for information are clear: obviously the Municipality office is absolutely available to provide any information».
Among the areas subject to expropriation there is also that previously occupied by urban gardens, with the result that Piazza Manzoni also appears in the list of expropriated people. «The Municipality of Nerviano is also part of this process and will make its own requestsabove all due to the fact that the land that will be expropriated perhaps from an economic point of view does not have a great value, but from a social point of view it represents an area of considerable interest”.
