The second edition of the is scheduled from Thursday 4 to Sunday 21 July 2024 in Molfetta Capotorti Music Festivalan event that pays homage to the figure of the Molfetta composer Luigi Capotorti organized by the association of the same name with the artistic direction of Maestro Nicola Petruzzella.

Bello Auditorium, Parish of San Pio with a Round table on Luigi Capotorti and contemporary Apulian composerswith musicologists and music critics of international stature and a musical intervention by the soprano Claudia Urru and the pianist Vito della Valle di Pompei.

An important moment of debate on opera and the season of Italian bel canto through the figure of Luigi Capotorti and contemporary Apulian composers, revisited in the historical and cultural context of the Neapolitan musical school.

In the end Sunday 21 July, 8.30pm Auditorium Madonna della Rosa, Virtuosity for clarinet and strings with the quintet composed of Domenico Masiello, Eliana de Candia, Antonella Altamura, Anila Roshi and Salvatore Pirolo who will perform some masterpieces of chamber music literature WA Mozart with a tribute to Luigi Capotorti, an exciting repertoire capable of rendering the expressiveness and ductility of the instruments with skill and virtuosity.

The Festival will then close in November with the presentation of the new one Critical Edition of “Jam ceases cruelis” by Luigi Capotorti, motet for string quartet and tenor voice, a publication that represents a further milestone in the path of research and knowledge of Maestro Capotorti’s production.

The Festival, which in addition to paying homage to the composer from Molfetta also wants to be a tribute to Italian opera, now a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, is organized bythe “Luigi Capotorti” Association, which since 1991 has been working to enhance the artistic and cultural individuals present in the area and the “Luigi Capotorti” Polyphonic Choir which over the years has deepened the study and performance of unpublished works by the composer from Molfetta.
