From today the demolition of the building housing the “Modugno” primary school in via Crocifisso begins, which will be followed by the reconstruction intervention according to the forecasts of the project financed by the Pnrr.
The demolition operation will continue until July 16th: workers and vehicles will be busy every day from 7am to 6pm.
The start of work on the construction site led to the decision to move, for the period 20 June to 31 August 2024, the daily market in Piazzetta Isabella D’Aragona to the Park&Ride area in via Domenico Urbano (local police ordinance no. 337 of 06/18/2024). Market operators will be accommodated respecting the stand number currently assigned to them and indicated in the relevant commercial authorization. The presence of the market will also determine the ban on parking in the Park&Ride areas used as market parking for all vehicles, excluding authorized vehicles, from 5am to 6pm.
The provision for the market in Piazzetta Isabella D’Aragona is part of the overall planning of the “Modugno” school construction site, developed by focusing particular attention on the impacts on the traffic in the area (the entire block between via Crocifisso, via Cesare Battisti, via Generale Planelli and Piazzetta Isabella D’Aragona) with the primary objective of reducing the inconvenience for citizens as much as possible.
The local police with ordinance no. 331/2024 has therefore ordered the sole closure to traffic and parking of via Cesare Battisti, in the stretch between via Crocifisso and via Generale Planelli, for the period 17 June – 16 July 2024 from 7am to 6pm. And this to make the transit of heavy vehicles involved in the demolition of the school building is easy and safe.
