FOLIGNO – There are just over 24 hours left until the gun is fired which will start the event Stafoligno 2024 or rather “the fastest night in Italy”, but also one of the most important sporting events in the city of Quintana.
The event, organized byAthletics Winner Foligno and sponsored by the Municipality, was presented this morning at the company headquarters in via Ponti, in the presence of the President of the company Giorgio Fusaro of the technical organizer Fabio Pantalla of the mayor Stefano Zuccarini and the councillor Marco Cesaro.
Young people like Strafoligno
“Even this year – states Pantalla – we have reached 700. The most relevant data concerns young people. Compared to all the other Umbrian races we have double the number of participants under 35. They are around 25% out of 700 athletes, usually the percentage is 13%”.
The technical level of the participants rises, especially among the female ones
“As for men – Pantalla continues – we decided to assign the number 1 to Stefano Massimi, who is the only member to have won the Strafoligno and the City of Foligno Half Marathon”.
The winner of the 2023 edition is also at the start Onesphore Nzikwinkundanumber 3 is Nicolò Bedini while the 4 Giuseppe Gerratana. Foligno will support number 5 Thomas Sorci of Winner, 15 Filippo Ferri and 16 Omar Fiki.
There will also be a fight in the women’s race with a field made up of several high-level athletes. The number 1 was assigned to Alessia Tuccitto, Italian marathon champion, but be careful Emily Cheroben And Clementine Mukandanga that come at the best times.
The route is always the same, almost completely flat, it winds through the historic center of Foligno with departure and arrival at the Canapè gardens. The women’s departure is scheduled for sunset at 8.35pm, while the men with the best times will leave at 9.45pm. Arrival scheduled for approximately 10.15pm.
