The ruthless “gang of little men” and “the hyena” Clara. Poti Pictures signs “I don’t like you much”

“For once we wanted to play the role of bad guys even if in reality we are very good.” Alessio, Paolo, Guglielmo and Tiziano, experienced actors of the Poti Pictures, for the first time in their artistic career they decided to embrace the dark side and become the “gang of little men”. Unscrupulous scammers who try in every way to deceive Clara, an “old lady” who appears fragile and defenseless but who, in reality, will give them more than a hard time.

The press preview of the adverts for the “You don’t like me” campaign took place yesterday evening, June 18th. Started three years ago, the project supported by the municipal administration and the Arezzo prefecture had the objective of raising awareness among the population of the problems relating to scams targeting the elderly. An initiative which, in the past, took shape with billboards and infographics appearing around the city and on the web. The second step saw, as mentioned above, the involvement of the Arezzo production company, the only one in all of Europe to make use of the direct participation of actors with cognitive disabilities. The result was a hilarious, effective and highly artistic product in which, exceptionally, the commander of the Arezzo municipal police Aldo Poponcini also took part and, in the last clip, plays himself.

“We joined this project – he explains Daniele Bonarini, director and founder of Poti Pictures – with conviction. For once we chose to be “bad guys” and try our hand at a narrative that is different for us. Obviously, we did it with our style, the now well-known one of Poti, which always highlights the irony and irreverent soul of our productions. The message we send, however, is very serious. Pay attention to scams and help grandparents defend themselves from those who want to scam them.”

Another stage for Poti who, fresh from the Academy’s successes in recent months, looks to the future, dreaming big and working hard to make her dreams come true.

“Dreaming doesn’t cost anything, right? – said Bonarini – so we exaggerate. The idea is to create studios where all our experience can converge and where we can work together with people who want to try their hand at cinematographic art. It would be nice to be able to do all this and become, why not, an international reference center for the sector, reminding everyone that it is possible to do communication and art in an innovative way”.

The clips will be visible starting today on the social channels of the Municipality of Arezzo and beyond. The trailer and the four commercials that will be published between now and June 28th were created thanks to funding from the Ministry of the Interior, Department of Public Security – Single Justice Fund on the basis of the memorandum of understanding between the Municipality of Arezzo and the Prefecture of Arezzo . The goal is to make the campaign go viral on social media, to ensure that the message of attention it conveys reaches citizens loud and clear. The 5 videos will be published on all social channels of the Municipality of Arezzo: YouTube channel, Facebook page and WhatsApp channel, as well as the institutional website.

Mayor Ghinelli’s comment

“Among the many treasures that this city can boast, one is called Poti Pictures. Yesterday we had further proof of the commitment, professionalism, talent and enthusiasm that revolve around this project. Extraordinary actors such as Tiziano, Paolo, Alessio, Guglielmo and together with them Mrs. Clara, a unique director like Daniele Bonarini and a whole group of professionals gave us a special evening, the preview of the commercials of the 2024 campaign “Te me piaci poco “which since 2021 raises awareness, informs and helps prevent scams targeting the elderly”.

Thus Mayor Alessandro Ghinelli commented on the afternoon dedicated to the preview of the 2024 campaign “Te me piaci poco”, conceived and created by the Municipality of Arezzo, the Prefecture and the Municipal Police and aimed at combating scams targeting the elderly. In room 5 of UCI Cinemas, the trailer and the four commercials created by Poti Pictures were presented to the authorities and to a large audience, involving a cast of top-level actors, namely the guys from the first social film production company, directed by director Daniele Bonarini. With them Mrs. Clara Fabbri and the commander of the municipal police Aldo Poponcini who demonstrated great talent.
