ANCONA – La crisis in the fashion department in the Marche region ends up in the Regional Council with a question from regional councilor of the Democratic Party Fabrizio Cesetti. «Unfortunately, as I had predicted, the response given by councilor Aguzzi to my question confirms that the Acquaroli council has no idea how to deal with the crisis that is overwhelming the fashion sector of our region, one of the flagships of Made in Italy – he states -. Once again the only horizon that the Marche Region can imagine is redundancy pay. This lack of vision, in areas such as the Fermo area, risks triggering a spiral that will lead to the cancellation of dozens of companies, first and foremost those on behalf of contractors who collaborate with large national brands, and thousands of jobs. This indolence of the center-right must end and it is time for the regional council to make specific commitments. For this reason we will file a motion in the next few days to clearly indicate the actions to be taken to protect this strategic sector for the economy of our territories, starting with an investment program aimed at strengthening professional training”.

«Since 2019 – adds the councilor Manuela Bora – we are witnessing a continuous decline in the number of companies operating in the fashion district. What has been done for the sector? Councilor Putzu wanted the Fashion table in the Second Commission to make up for the serious shortcomings of the Acquaroli council. It’s a shame that, to date, we have met three times, without appreciable results. In February, on the occasion of Micam, Putzu himself announced an upcoming meeting, which however was never called. Evidently the priorities were different and all electoral. In any case it is clear that the Acquaroli Council can no longer afford to sit around tables and discuss; It’s time for him to act and take action. In July 2020, the outgoing council signed, after two years of work and discussion with all stakeholders, a program agreement for the industrial reconversion and redevelopment of the footwear sector in particular, making 30 million euros available to the territories . An agreement initiated by the centre-left but managed completely by the centre-right, evidently in an ineffective manner, as the numbers are showing us.”
