On Friday 21 June, at 8pm, at the Chiesa dei Battuti in San Vito al Tagliamento, as usual on the day of the Music Festival, the new edition of the Piccolo Violino Magico, the international competition that brings the most promising talents of the bow, an excellence of Friuli Venezia Giulia now known and appreciated throughout the world.
The Piccolo Violino Magico, organized by the Arrigoni String Academy, is dedicated to violinists up to 13 years of age, without restrictions of origin or nationality and will come alive from 1 to 7 July 2024 in San Vito al Tagliamento (Pn).
This new edition will be narrated by the Councilor for Vitality of the Municipality of San Vito al Tagliamento, the President of the Arrigoni String Academy Sante Fornasier and the Artistic Director of the Academy, Domenico Mason.
Following this, the young violinist Marley Erickson will give the public a short recital for solo violin, taken from her vast repertoire: despite her young age (born in 2003), Marley has already played with dozens of orchestras in Europe and has qualified in the best competitions and is looking forward to a promising career. Already in 2016, when she was just thirteen years old (and she ranked among the finalists of the Piccolo Violino Magico), the prestigious New York magazine San Francisco Classical Voices he spoke of her as a young artist with a profound classical soul that the world would soon hear about.
On the occasion of the presentation, a special meeting will also be announced which this year will enrich the schedule of competition events: among the novelties of the eighth edition there is, in fact, also a new collaboration between the Piccolo Violino Magico and Fondazione Pordenonelegge.it which will cross music and literature, bringing a well-known nationally known author and artist to San Vito al Tagliamento.
The competition boasts highly prestigious institutional and academic partners and is first of all a great opportunity for very young talents to test themselves: unique in this sense, the Piccolo Violino Magico allows young competitors to play in all the tests supported by the orchestra and it gives them many opportunities for discussion, study and growth, much deeper than simple competition.
There were many requests for registration (about eighty, from all over the world) and there will be 27 in total who will arrive in San Vito with their families: as well as from Italy, from China, Germany, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, New Zealand, Ukraine, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The programs chosen by the candidates, among the various obligatory options, this year too are of great virtuosic commitment and it will be exciting to follow the different phases of elimination; The jury’s task, again this year made up of highly selected international professionals, is arduous in deciding on the awarding of the prizes, which will be awarded on 7 July, after the final evening of the Competition, which the public is already awaiting with enthusiasm and curiosity.
