Catanzaro: Mayor Fiorita begins the “check” of government activity

«As I announced before the European vote, I am about to launch a large-scale administrative and political review with a double purpose: on the one hand, to evaluate the effectiveness of our government action in the various sectors of intervention and the state of implementation of the program; on the other, to verify which forces and which councilors share our idea of change”. This was declared by the mayor of Catanzaro, Nicola Fiorita.

«We all – continues the mayor – must be ready to question ourselves. I will conduct this verification without ideological prejudices, even if the profile of our administration is based on non-negotiable and inalienable values and principles, such as the defense of civil rights, the fight against social marginalization, solidarity, the firm opposition to the plan of a differentiated autonomy that would split the country in two. I will meet the representatives and council groups of the current majority, but also other groups and individual councilors because I believe that in this phase it is important to seek maximum convergence in the interests of the City. There can be no doubt or hesitation on only one point: the clear discontinuity in methods and objectives compared to the past”.

At the end of this journey, which will necessarily be short – concludes Mayor Fiorita – we will identify the most appropriate solutions to give a strong boost to our action which in any case has already produced many very important results, such as the massive investment in schools and purification, the relaunch of the port, the use of the Exhibition Center, the impetus to the PSC and the Greater Catanzaro project, the redevelopment of the stadium, the opening of the construction site of the pedestrian viaduct on the seafront, the redevelopment of gyms and sports facilities, the rebirth of social aggregation centers, the recovery of the budget, the confirmation of the Blue Flag and much more. We will start again with even greater determination and I am sure that at the end of the legislature we will deliver to the people of Catanzaro a better and changed city.”
