“A river of music” begins on Friday 21 June

Friday 21 June the ninth edition of A River of Music with the concert of Winston Blues at 9pm at the Wunderkammer Pier and the literary presentation of Roberto Caselli’s book “The history of Black Music” at 6.30 pm in the “Stefano Tassinari” Aula Magna. These are the first events of the event which presents nineteen concerts, involving hundreds of musicians and professionals for three months of music until August 1st. For the ninth year the Volano river hosts a concert twice a week at Wunderkammer Pier (at the back of Palazzo Savonuzzi in via Darsena, 57) with the key theme of solidarity. There Dock of San Paolo it will become a wonderful musical square where to celebrate music and offer a meeting and promotion space for local volunteer organizations, who will have the opportunity to tell their story and raise funds to support their solidarity projects within the community. A stand will be set up at the entrance where the public can leave a free donation, which will be donated to the participating voluntary associations. Friday 21st we start with theGiulia ODV Volunteer AssociationSaturday 22nd will be guest ANDOS (National Association of Women Having Breast Surgery) and will close the long weekend on Sunday 23rd Earth to Moon Foundation ETS

The weekend for the celebration of the music festival will continue on Saturday 22nd with an important masterclass for wind instruments. On Saturday the day begins in the morning with a masterclass at 9.30 Yamaha Band & Orchestra with Maestro Geoff Warren open to all wind instruments (free, but with compulsory AMF card and reservation required), with the possibility of participation also for the rhythmic sections, always in the spaces of the School of Modern Music and organized in collaboration with Yamaha. At 9pm at the Wunderkammer Pier there will be a concert byOrganic Trio with the teacher Geoff Warren.

Closing Sunday 23rd is the time for the concert ofAmf Brass Band, performance that fully embodies the spirit of the 2024 Music Festival dedicated to musical bands. It is possible for all evenings it will also be possible to drink and eat on site.

A River of Music is organized byMusicians Association of Ferrara APSin collaboration with the Wunderkammer Consortium (of which the AMF is part), the patronage and contribution of Municipality of Ferrarathe participation of a dense associative reality (Jazz Club Ferrara, Jazz Department of the Frescobaldi Conservatory of Ferrara, Wah Wah Magazine, Il Gruppo dei 10, School of Artistic Craftsmanship of Centopievese, “Gino Neri” Plectrum Orchestra, Italian Blues Union).
