its nature to conquer Galleria Vittoria

“Observing, watching, imagining… nature calls my attention everywhere, in every form, in the myriads of color combinations that offer themselves to my sight like an unexpected spectacle. After long years of figurative art and studies on techniques , I felt the need to enhance the detail, the sensations, the emotions.” (Nino Perrone) With the exhibition “In the wind of painting” at the Galleria Vittoria, Nino Perrone, an artist of great sensitivity and talent, involves the viewer in a fascinating journey through art, which explores the harmony of colors and of shapes, linking figurative and abstract in a visual symphony that captures and inspires, inviting him to delve into a universe of shapes and colors that dance in space. The exhibition curated by Lorenzo Canova, who also wrote the critical text, closes the exhibition cycle of the 2023-2024 season of Galleria Vittoria, composed of around 10 brilliant, colorful works that capture the public, enveloping it in a vortex of emotions , contrasts, shapes, shadows and light that make Nino’s paintings simply wonderful. Nino Perrone, in his artistic journey, carries out an internal research where people become characters full of emotion, thanks to their looks, their clothes, the artist generates his own interpretation by creating new forms, giving new volumes, expressing notes of color from which give rise to contrasts, tones and fusions. Nino recounts his artistic growth from figurative to abstract, showing how color has become the protagonist of his works: “The color takes over the drawing and becomes vibrant, energetic. Color upon colour, where one becomes complementary to the other, magnifying its external appearance. Matter is destroyed, it dies; on the contrary, the energy hurls itself into space, giving rise to new sources of light.” The artist creates his works using mixed techniques, on canvases prepared with stucco, plaster and glue, savoring the pleasure of the brushstroke and spatula stroke. His works imprison the essence of light and shadows, giving life to abstract compositions that enhance the beauty and energy of nature itself. “Perrone does not express his thoughts through a conceptual work, he relies on the archetypal ability of painting to give shape to unspeakable things, so as to be able to find meaning in the world through expressive tools that words cannot have”. (Lorenzo Canova) In the work, the “Maroso” created in 2022, the painting completely loses its “naturalistic” references to change into a symbolic figure, with an abstract structure, rich in allusions, enhanced by the impetuous chromaticism that lights up the material pictorial and returns, through a disruptive intensity, the violence of a nature that erases everything in its unstoppable reaction. Starting from this framework, the works of 2024 come to life such as Flusso ondoso, Percezione impetuosa or Mare tumultuoso, where Perrone increases his discourse on an abstraction through which he manages to communicate states of mind and, mainly, a feeling of uneasiness suggested by the happy quality of the coloristic passages. Dark chasms rise until they become waves of light, signs and fragments that overlap, they shine in space like red-hot signals in the darkness, until they reach the borders of chaos, the total loss of form, even if, a second before the end Perrone gives a new strength to his expressive dynamism, giving a new order to the disorder of the world.
