Note from the city councilors Domenico Damascelli, Francesco Toscano, Carmela Rossiello, Ivan Lorusso (Fratelli d’Italia) and Onofrio Altamura (Patto Comune) with the coordination of the political and civic forces Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia, Lega, Patto Comune, Onda Civica, United for Bitonto.

It is with great disappointment that we note injustices in the management of authorizations for the organization of events in our city. It is unacceptable that there are unequal treatment, whereby some obtain permits without difficulty, while others have to fight for the possibility to organize events. It is not correct that an economic activity, if managed by friends or relatives of some political exponents, easily obtains the necessary authorizations, while if the same activity, in another period, is managed by a common citizen, it is hindered and manages to obtain an authorization after suffering. This disparity not only undermines citizens’ trust in institutions, but also raises questions about the transparency and impartiality of decision-making processes. Furthermore, we contest the discriminatory clause present in the recently published public notice for the organization of shows in the city, which requires participants to have already organized an event in previous years. This restriction is clearly discriminatory towards those who wish to get involved for the first time, denying them the opportunity to contribute to the cultural and social life of our community. We do not note, once again, the planning of a rich and varied program for the entire summer, which has now begun. We believe it is appropriate to offer a broader and more accessible summer program, enriching the cultural offer for all citizens and ensuring a vast positive impact on the population. We therefore ask for a concrete commitment from the municipal council to guarantee transparency and equal treatment in event authorizations. It is essential that every citizen has the same opportunities to contribute to public life, without favoritism or discrimination. Only in this way will we be able to build a more just and inclusive community, where every voice has the right to be heard.
