Tax reform, Giansanti: we ask the country to make agri-food companies competitive on the markets. VIDEO INTERVIEW

“We wanted today as Confagricoltura, precisely to demonstrate what the Italian system must do to be ever stronger. Today we have a sector that has become strategic and fundamental, which is that of agri-food, a sector which in addition to being the first sector of the country’s economy is essential and necessary to guarantee quality food safely, in quantity, every day to both Italian citizens and those of the world. We are experiencing a difficult season – climate change, the effects of market, inflation, war at the gates of Europe -, in a situation like this we must have the courage to make proposals, which we have done in recent months and have a government capable of giving those answers that businesses expected “.

Thus to AGRICOLAE Massimiliano Giansanti, president of Confagricoltura,on the sidelines of the conference organized by Confagricoltura on “Tax reform and the development of innovative agricultural activities and agroenergy”.

“The Government gave the answers that businesses expected. Fiscal stability is a fundamental element for businesses because when it comes to taxation, I repeat, it is an important issue for citizens and for businesses, because it is right to pay taxes, on the other hand, having a certain framework of stability, defined in the years to come, becomes an element of competitiveness for companies.

Let us never forget that the more it costs to make a food product, the greater the cost consumers will bear. So in this dimension the government has made very pragmatic, very reasoned choices which guarantee stability to farmers with regards to production capacity within a framework of business competitiveness. Here, this is what we ask of our country: to be put in a position to be competitive in the markets.”
