Lieutenant Carugati is the new commander of the Piacenza Radiomobile

Lieutenant Giorgio Carugati, after more than 10 years spent at the 3rd Carabinieri Regiment “Lombardia” in Milan as Operational Team Commander and other missions, changes position and returns for the second time to the Provincial Command of Piacenza where very young, in two different periods, he had served early in his career.

He began his service on Tuesday 18 July in via Beverora as commander of the Radiomobile Section of the Piacenza Company. A prestigious and at the same time highly responsible position as the first point of contact for emergency services. Under him he will have the carabinieri of the Piacenza Company who serve on the “gazelles” of the force, those who are usually sent first to the site of the event and who therefore have immediate contact with the difficulties of the citizens. Lieutenant Carugati, a 55-year-old of Milanese origins, who has, in his professional experience, always held operational roles, said he was enthusiastic about the new assignment.

He arrived in this province in 1991 as a very young Carabinieri, first at the Bettola Station and for the following four years at the Piacenza Operations Department, after having attended the Carabinieri Marshals School in Velletri and Vicenza, and after the experience at the Carabinieri Station of Pontecurone and as crew chief at the Radiomobile Unit of the Provincial Command of Turin, in 2003 he served as marshal in charge of the Monticelli Station.

In July 2012 he was transferred to the 3rd Carabinieri Regiment “Lombardia” in Milan, where he comes from, and after a few years he was qualified as team leader of the SOS (Operational Support Teams) of Milan and as a public order instructor. He boasts some peace missions with the MSU contingent: in Sarajevo in September 2003, in Pristina in Kosovo in June 2012. He was selected for the Miadit 18 mission in Djibouti (Horn of Africa) where in March 2023 he participated with the role of public order instructor within the Team Police Section with the task of training eighty-eight Somali soldiers/policemen for various tasks. He obtained the honor with decoration for high-risk public order services (Expo and G7), that for long command positions and finally, in January 2024, the Mauritian Medal, awarded by the President of the Republic, for merit for the ten decades of military career.
