He was dealing in the center of Padua, a minor taken to Treviso | Today Treviso | News

TREVISO – An unaccompanied Tunisian minor, aged 17, was arrested by the Padua Flying Squad for drug dealing. Since the beginning of the year – reports Police Commissioner Marco Odorisio – there have already been 45 minor offenders identified by the police, mostly involved in drug dealing; 20 of them are unaccompanied foreigners, another 16 second generation foreigners.

What causes concern is the data linked not only to the increase in the number of children involved, compared to the same period last year, more than double the total, but above all the number of children under 14 years of age, 13 compared to two in 2023. The 17-year-old arrested yesterday appears to have arrived on the Trapani coasts at the beginning of this year. Placed in a reception facility in Trapani, he left it in a short time, thus losing track of him. He was tracked down again in May in the province of Padua, in the municipality of Selvazzano, with just a few grams of hashish, and then entrusted to social services and a reception community for minors. The arrest was made yesterday afternoon, after a series of stakeouts in a city park. 340 euros were found on him, and 20 doses of cocaine, approximately 15 grams, hidden in a bush.

Taken to the police station, the minor was placed in the Treviso First Reception Centre. A 22-year-old Tunisian was also checked in the same green area, also with a history of drug charges. Two search notes against him have emerged which are valid for all countries in the Schengen area, one in Germany, the other also in Padua from the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters. He had twice managed to escape being accompanied and detained in a repatriation centre. He had made his last escape at the Cagliari airport, before being placed in the Macomer CPR. Police Commissioner Odorisio reactivated the expulsion procedure against him, ordering his accompaniment and detention in the Gradisca d’Isonzo CPR.
