Differentiated autonomy law approved. Fontana: “Lombardy will run faster”

The Chamber approved the bill on differentiated autonomy, a measure requested by the Minister of Regional Affairs Roberto Calderoli (Lega). The bill had already been approved by the Senate in January. (read here), the provision now becomes law. The president of the Lombardy Region, Attilio, is more than satisfied Fontana who commented on social media: “A exceptional news for Lombardy and for the Lombards who, seven years ago, with a referendum, had clearly and clearly expressed their desire to go in that direction. With autonomy we will have more skills in various subjects and we will be able to confirm our administrative capacity by rendering our region even stronger. I thank all those who believed in this project and in particular Minister Calderoli who gave a decisive impulse to reach this goal. With autonomy Lombardy will be free to run even faster!”.

The approval of the law does not determine the actual transfer of competences to the regions. In fact, the provision limits itself to indicating a path and rules that the regions will have to follow in negotiating with the government and parliament the attribution of powers and prerogatives
