Sometimes you just need a square to feel good together. This was demonstrated by the approx three thousand attendances at Besurica which last Sunday and Monday animated the first edition of “Besu Street Fest“, the initiative organized by the Besuricando Aps association which, with moments of entertainment, music and sociality, launched a message with a strong civic value, highlighting a felt need of the neighborhood: that of having a square which, as it was for May the two-day celebration be a place of sharing and meeting.
“We are really satisfied with the success of the event – say the organizers Thomas Trenchi, Marco Caviglioni, Daniele Spina And Melany Trenchi by Besuricando Aps – we thank the volunteers, sponsors, artists and food trucks who made it possible to materialize the idea, without forgetting the collaboration of the Municipality. A second edition? Who knows, we’re already talking about it. In the meantime, however, we have said that Piacenza is not dead, as we tell ourselves too often: perhaps, sometimes, we need a square to sing and feel good together. And the need for a Besurica square is precisely the proactive message we have launched, gathering a lot of enthusiasm and support from residents, with the sole intention of sharing a positive stimulus for the neighborhood, and not a polemical one.”
And now the municipal administration is opening up the possibility of reflecting on a possible future Besurica square, leaving room for discussion on the best location. “It is nice that an urban space has been valorised which has a completely different function on a daily basis, that of parking – comments the councilor for commerce Simone Fornasari -. The party also allowed us to discover the aggregative function of the square in the center of the Besurica district. The idea of a real square there or in the nearby garden? As a municipal administration we will listen and evaluate the ideas of citizens, together with the urban planning function”.
Thus the “Besu Street Fest” sent out a signal, making the square in via Perfetti alive: the singer-songwriter from Piacenza followed one another on the Besurica stage to liven up the party Daniele Ronda, the rapper Devil Sola, the deejay set of Logan, the performance of band Deja Vu and the performance of pole dancing coordinated by Ingrid Cullhai. Once the event is over, there are two pieces of street furniture that the two days have placed for the valorisation of the central area of the neighborhood from the perspective of the square: first of all the mural created live by the street artist “Guari Art” on the bus shelter in via Perfetti – where the newspaper Libertà was also honored – and the donation of a Ping pong table installed in the public garden dedicated to the victims of all mafias, with rackets and balls made available free of charge in the nearby municipal library.
