TRAPANI. The ATI (territorial water assembly) TRAPANI communicates that, after several meetings and requests for interventions to overcome the water crisis in Sicily which took place with the various municipalities, the civil engineering of Trapani and the regional control room directed by the engineer. Cocina, the project proposals of the following municipalities have been financed and become implementing entities:

– Alcamo Revamping of the “Cannizzaro” spring water lifting system, which will be upgraded until the full flow rate of the springs is exploited €293,100.00. The intervention, as partial compensation for current and future reductions, increases the water supply by approximately 10 l/s.

– Calatafimi-Segesta WELL REVAMPING Reactivation works with installation of pumps in 6 wells and related ancillary works €64,100.00. The intervention, as partial compensation for current and future reductions, increases the water supply by approximately 6-8 l/t per second, as well as the revamping of the pumping system for the reactivation of the lifting system in the C.da Monte station Agreements €19,400.00 The intervention, as partial compensation for current and future reductions, increases the water supply by approximately 3 l/s.

– Castellamare del Golfo Revamping of the C.da Fraginesi well (15 l/s) €114,300.00 Castellamare, Scopello, Fraginesi and overspring. The intervention, as partial compensation for current and future reductions, increases the water supply by approximately 15l/s

– Castelvetrano WELL REVAMPING Reactivation of n. 2 wells “Agate” and “Ingrasciotta” and installation of ancillary electromechanical works €77,400.00 Castelvetrano, Marinella di Selinunte, Triscina The intervention, as partial compensation for current and future reductions, increases the water supply by approximately 20l/s.

– Salemi MUNICIPALITY WELL REVAMPING Enhancement works on “Ulmi – FilciBagnitelli-Polizzo-San Giacomo” wells owned by the municipality €270,000.00. The intervention involves increasing the municipal water supply by approximately 16 l/s necessary for the needs for the benefit of the Superborder.

– San Vito lo Capo WELL REVAMPING Restoration of existing well “Sugameli well” (5 l/s) and pump installation including mobile watermaker system €150,000.00. The intervention involves the increase of the municipal water supply by approximately 5 l/s necessary for the needs and for the benefit of the Superarea.

– Trapani WELL REVAMPING No. 3 “TR2 TR8b TR12b” wells in C.da Bresciana: strengthening works and related ancillary works with additional release into the network of approximately 50 l/s €196,500.00 L Trapani, Misiliscemi and overwater The intervention , provides for the increase of the municipal water supply by approximately 50 l/s necessary for the needs and for the benefit of the Superarea WELL REVAMPING No. 1 “TR13 b” well in C.da Bresciana and R2 booster station, strengthening works and related ancillary works with additional release into the network of approximately 15 l/s €130,000.00 L Trapani, Misiliscemi and over-area The intervention involves increasing the municipal water supply by approximately 15 l/s necessary for the needs and for the benefit of the Over-area REVAMPING OF WELLS Revamping works of the “Madonna” well: replacement of the lifting pump, with an increase in the flow rate to be introduced into the network of approximately 15 l/s €63,000.00 Trapani, Misiliscemi and overwater The intervention involves increasing the municipal water supply by approximately 15 l /s necessary for the needs and benefit of the Superscope

For a TOTAL financing of the ATI TRAPANI Municipalities of €1,377,800.00.

There will therefore be approximately 150 liters per second of new water resources that can be integrated with the current ones coming from both municipal resources and Sicilacque pipelines. The latter company has already implemented mitigation works in order to obtain the same quantity of water historically supplied to the various municipalities. The president of the ATI Water of the province of Trapani Francesco Gruppuso (mayor of Calatafimi Segesta) informs that in the session of 17 June last, the assembly of mayors unanimously approved the proposal to hire, through a public notice, the General Director that is, an essential figure foreseen by the statute that this body has never had. He also informed the assembly that, signed by all the mayors of the Board of Directors, in recent weeks the end of the regional commissionership was requested which led to a stalemate in determining the type of management form and tender notice to identify the single managing entity. A response from the president of the Sicilian region is awaited.
