TREVISO Agents of Local police in support of the Prosecutor’s Office to sort out the mass of daspo urban agreements signed by the police commissioner, almost all on the recommendation of the mayor Mario Conte, destined to become judicial measures but stopped because the procedures are proceeding slowly. Result: unwanted people, all disturbers of public peace, provocateurs and protagonists of brawls in various parts of the city, continue to roam freely. For this reason, during the last meeting it was decided to go to the aid of the prosecutor’s offices to speed up the notification procedures. At the moment, an agent has been deployed in the court building to support the prosecutor’s staff, an operator for a total of eight hours a week which, in case of need, can become 18.

THE MOTIVATION

“There are numerous cases of application of the urban daspo which then often turn into measures for expulsion from the city (mandatory street permit) or bans on returning to certain quadrants of the city; a non-negligible number of people do not comply with these obligations or prohibitions and therefore they are referred to the judicial authority with the case being forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office”, notes the Council. Who then adds: “The amount of paperwork handled by the Prosecutor’s Office deriving from this activity makes it desirable to increase the number of operators dedicated to the administrative activity deriving from it.” Hence the solution identified: “Urban safety is a collective interest that can also be achieved thanks to the concrete application of the sanctions and measures provided for by current legislation”. And to provide help, the choice was to draw on the experience of the Treviso local police which “has experience and expertise in the field of judicial policing and urban security and which is available to temporarily make an operator available to the Treviso Prosecutor’s Office in order to provide assistance to the administrative activity deriving from said practices”.

THE KNOT

The upgrade was decided after a series of meetings between the Prosecutor and the local police command leaders who formulated “a draft collaboration agreement relating to the administrative activities resulting from the application of the measures envisaged in the context of Urban Security by the regulations in force through the secondment of an employee of the Municipality of Treviso for a period of six months, on an experimental basis”. Nor should it be underlined that Ca’ Sugana was happy to make resources available in order to make the procedures for removing all those people involved in some way from the city, or from its most sensitive quadrants from the security point of view, more effective. episodes for which the intervention of the police was necessary. The quadrant of Piazza Borsa remains in the eye of the storm, between Vicolo Fiumicelli and the Sant’Andrea gardens, constantly kept under control by the police, one of the sectors of the city where most people are stopped and checked. And where urban daspos are more frequent and, very often, get stuck in the prosecutor’s offices. The support of the local police will serve to streamline the situation.
