This led to the arrest and recovery of the stolen goods, which were returned to their rightful owner. The woman has several precedents for similar crimes. She said that she had a strong addiction to drugs and that she had devised that trick to get money to fuel that vicious cycle. The lawyer Alfredo Torsani has proposed a plea deal of 1 year and 6 months, with the woman ending up in a rehabilitation community for drug addicts. All that is missing is ratification, but this case of fraud will also have significant criminal consequences.
