The victim is a bus driver, employee of the company Arriva Italia. The Fit Cisl union reported the episode with a note released today evening, Tuesday 18 June.

The story

The attack took place near the town hall, where a group of about ten kids was about to get on a bus. The driver asked them for the ticket, reminding them that without a ticket they would not be able to continue with their itinerary. “At that point – says the driver – the first of the group gave me a header while another, or maybe two others started beating me. When I fell, the group disappeared, with the exception of a boy who, together with a passenger on the bus, helped me.”

The prognosis

The driver was taken to the emergency room in Iseo, where he was diagnosed non-displaced fracture of the nasal septumvarious bruises on the face and ear.

In the hospital he was given a 7-day prognosis, to be evaluated at a later time and a visit to the ear doctor was prescribed. In the hospital he also made his first statements to the police, who are now looking for those responsible for the attack.

The comment

“It’s simply unacceptable – he says Pasquale Salvatore, general secretary of Fit Cisl Bergamo. We wonder where the institutions are and what initiatives the Arriva company has put in place to avoid these situations. In Bergamo there is a real hemorrhage of drivers, both for economic factors, but also and above all for these reasons (more than 100 drivers are missing among all the companies in the sector)”.
