CALTANISSETTA. On June 25th, the majestic rooms of Palazzo Moncada will host an unmissable event: the “Music Festival – Alla Corte dei Moncada”. The event will begin at 7.30pm, offering participants a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the sound and cultural atmospheres of the seventeenth century.
The evening will be inaugurated with a conference dedicated to music at Palazzo Moncada during the first half of the 1600s. The speeches will be by the President of the Pro Loco of Caltanissetta Dr. Luca Miccichè, Prof. Rosanna Zaffuto, historian of the city, the President of the Assn. Alchemy Arch. Giuseppe Giugno. Through insights and anecdotes, the public will be able to discover how music played a particular role in court life.
After the conference, the magic will continue with an extraordinary concert. Two choirs, selected for their excellence and dedication to ancient music, Amoris Laetitia and I Cantori di Orfeo, will perform a repertoire of seventeenth-century music accompanied by the dance performance of the students of the Liceo Classico Linguistico Choreutico Artistico Audiovisual e Multimediale R. Settimo of Caltanissetta, in particular of classes III and IV CC, with the choreography of the teacher Eva Farinella.
During the course of the day, the students of classes III BC, III and IV CC will act as guides in the Moncadian places of the city, following the timetable 10-12 and 16-18. Reservation is not necessary and the visit will be free. The places affected will be the Santa Maria la Nova Cathedral, the Sant’Agata al Collegio Church, the San Domenico Church and its crypt and Palazzo Moncada.
