Massimo Margiottahead of the youth sector ofHellas Verona, spoke to the microphones of the club’s official channels. The manager of the La Scala youth team took stock of last season, focusing on the salvation of the Primavera and then, in cascade, also talking about the other teams of the yellow-blue youth team.
Margiotta’s assessment of the Spring
I am satisfied, I am very happy with our teams even if every year we try to do better than the previous one. Looking at the end of the season, with Frosinone recovering and putting many in difficulty, the value of our championship certainly becomes even more important. It was very nice to save ourselves with five matchdays to spare, also aided by the fact that there was only one relegation. At some points we were even close to the playoffs, but beyond that I think the Primavera had a good season with important results. And above all, as we try every year, some players have approached the first team: Patané in the Italian Cup and Cissé in the championship are two objectives achieved. Without forgetting Diao, Calabrese, Corradi, who were a permanent part of the first team. This means that we have worked well based on what society asks of us.
Towards the 2024/2025 championship: what Margiotta expects
It will be a totally different championship. The boys will face a twenty-team championship for the first time. It will be very long, with many midweeks and we will have to manage many aspects that they are not used to. It will be difficult, there will be three relegations. The championship has been constructed in an important and beautiful way, the level is rising and we have worked on many guys who are now protagonists in our first teams.
The new membership rules: Margiotta’s thoughts
This is a sensitive topic. The clubs suffer the greatest damage, because they are the ones who invest in facilities, staff and the growth of a player. These new rules create many problems for companies. I hope that we can find, as it seems, a new way.
A look at the future: Hellas Verona’s projects
I can see it well. The company believes in the youth sector and every year is ready to improve the needs of the youth sector. Our goal is to always try to do better. We want to bring more solutions and even more professionalism to our kids to help them find the perfect path to fulfill their dreams.
