PALERMO – Even in Sicily the Democratic Party is mobilizing for the demonstration, called at a national level by the opposition, to protest after the violence in the Chamber and to say no to the reforms on the premiership and on differentiated autonomy carried out by the government led by Giorgia Meloni.

“It is truly incredible and, to say the least, shameful – states the regional secretary of the Sicily PD, Anthony Barbagallo – the silence of the Sicilian governor Renato Schifani regarding differentiated autonomy. He behaves as a vassal of his allies in Rome in the face of a reform which, if approved, will condemn Sicily, and the entire South, to remain behind because it will be impossible to recover the infrastructural, economic and social gap that divides it from the regions of the North ”.

At the same time, therefore, with this afternoon’s initiative in the capital, the PD also invites citizens to participate in the squares of some of the main Sicilian cities. Appointment at 5.30pm (6pm in Palermo and Messina). In Palermo (Piazza Verdi), Messina (seaside promenade in front of the prefecture), Catania (in front of the prefecture), Ragusa (Piazza Poste), Trapani (Piazza Vittorio Veneto), Marsala (Piazza Matteotti).
