These are the moves of the Marche health councilor, Filippo Saltamartini, at the regional legislative assembly this morning, in which the agenda included a question on the presence of anti-abortion associations in the clinics and a question on the failure to adapt the protocols for the pharmacological abortion procedure which in the Marche is only allowed up to 7 weeks instead of up to 9 weeks and outside hospitals, as required by national and international indications”.
These are the words of the Marche feminist network Altro+di194 present today in the hall of the Regional Council: “In response to the question – they explain – the councilor went to great lengths to defend law 194, one of the fundamental pillars among the reforms approved following the Republican Constitution, in those seventies ‘so important for the achievement of civil rights’and reminds us that the majority confirmed it with the 1981 referendum, rejecting both those who wanted to repeal it and those who wanted to broaden its field of application”.
“Starting from these considerations, the councilor claims the desire to open the consultancies to associations to make use – citing the dictates of the recent decree on the Pnrr – ‘without new or greater burdens on public finances, including the involvement of third party subjects sector who have qualified experience in maternity support’ and announces that it has given a mandate to the competent offices to adapt the procedures since ‘access requests’ have been received from some associations.
“Absolute silence on the part of the councilor on the numerous problems affecting public consultancies, listed in the Interpellation (it is number 31 presented on 13 May 2024 on the initiative of the Bora Councilors and others): the insufficiency of offices, opening hours and professional figures, the undue presence of conscientious objectors; and then, the failure to receive ministerial guidelines on pharmacological IVG”, highlights the Marche Feminist Network.
“After having dribbled, the councilor leaves the room and question number 1185, concerning the Marche Region’s failure to comply with the pharmacological procedure, is postponed for the umpteenth time to next Tuesday, June 25th”.
The Marche feminist network Altro+di194 was present in the regional council together with other collective associations and unions (Pro-choice Network, Associazione Vita di Donna, Aied, Laiga, Agite, Agedo, the CGIL, CISL, UIL, USB Marche unions) and social centers that have joined the garrison in Piazza Cavour, relaunches the invitation to mobilize for next Tuesday.
