Maurizio Ferrarese after confirmation at Moncalieri: “An important journey has begun, happy to continue”

MONCALIERI – Maurizio Ferrarese, as reported exclusively by Piemonte Sport, has been confirmed as manager of the Moncalieresi team also for the 2024/2025 season.

The coach took over during the season in progress on 2 October 2023, taking the reins of the newly promoted team in Serie C, leading them to within an inch of the top, in an extraordinary year which earned the Blues third place, behind only Lumezzane (victory in both the Championship and the Italian Cup) and Orobica Calcio Bergamo.

The former Granata footballer spoke to Piemonte Sport to comment on the season that has just passed: “We had a wonderful journey arriving very close to the top of the table, precisely just one point from the first, but all our compliments go to Lumezzane: they have proven to be a strong and structured group for victory, and the conquest of the championship and the Italian Cup proves it.

Applause must also be given to Orobica, because they were able to stand up to Lumezzane until the end: they are important teams and for us, having finished just behind these great teams is a source of great satisfaction.

Ferrarese, the interview continues, looking towards the next season: “as regards next season, we will simply try to do well, without making the mistakes of last year, which certainly made us grow and mature. This discussion, obviously, does not imply being immune to missteps: when you put yourself out there, there is the risk of making mistakes and it must be taken into account! The pitch will do the talking, as always, and we will have to make sure it is in our favor.

At the moment, we are in a construction phase: the position obtained last year has given strength to our Sports Director, Davide Catalano, who will certainly be able to conclude any negotiations with good cards in hand to play.”

The coach applauds the Moncalierese club, exalting the female project and the path undertaken: “The club believes a lot in the women’s football movement, and in addition to the first team, they are also trying to work on the youth sector, in particular to set up the U15 and U17 teams. The credit for this result also goes to the girls, who were able to create an environment full of enthusiasm, and this helps to instill passion in the little ones.”

Finally, Ferrarese concludes his speech by thanking Moncalieri for the opportunity received, obtaining the opportunity to continue to develop the ambitions of the club, the girls and the staff as a whole: “I thank the club for giving me the opportunity to continue this journey together, it is synonymous with trust and mutual respect, I can only thank them.

We want to continue following the path we have taken, improving where we have made mistakes and moving forward to build something beautiful! I don’t like to make proclamations but I can promise that, on our part, we will make every effort to constantly improve and face a difficult championship. Thanks also go to the girls, who put constant effort into everything they do: the enthusiasm that has been created in the locker room is special, I hope we can continue in this spirit.”
