In conjunction with vermouth week, the usual vermouth event returns to Castello di Moncalieri.

Every fourth Sunday of the month, the Friends of the Royal Castle and Park of Moncalieri Association offers a journey to discover the spaces of the Savoy residence in Moncalieri which are usually closed to the public, offering a vermouth tasting at the end.

The visits to the “Secret Castle” wind through the external spaces so as to also delve into the Cavallerizza (a unique one of its kind among the Savoy residences) and the hilly park, and then move into the courtly rooms visiting the apartments of the young princes (now the headquarters of the Regimental Headquarters), and the so-called “new” apartment of Her Majesty (later the Officers’ Club) and conclude with a thematic study on vermouth followed by a tasting of the “Queen’s Vermouth”, so called because it was dedicated to the end of ‘Nineteenth century to Queen Margherita from the Chazalettes company, sponsor of the initiative, which was also the supplier of the House of Princess Maria Laetitia, the last member of the House of Savoy to have lived in the Castle.

The visits are enriched by tableau vivants created in collaboration with the re-enactors of “Le vie del tempo”, to take a journey through history to discover fashions and curiosities of distant eras, discovering habits and customs and delving into events and moments particularly linked to the Castle . This Sunday we will talk about fashion between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries

Starting from the month of July, given the exceptional success, “Castello Segreto” will also open its doors every 1st Sunday with events dedicated, instead, to delving deeper into the history of Piedmont chocolate with a tasting of pralines signed by Pfatisch in collaboration with the Choco Story museum Turin.

Every first (chocolate) and fourth (vermouth) Sunday of the month at 10.30am, 12.00pm, 2.30pm, 4.30pm, entry €5.00
