The new municipal council for the 2024 – 2029 mandate presented: names and delegations

Livorno, 18 June 2024 – Mayor Luca Salvetti presented the new City Council to the press this morning, also illustrating his delegations and those of the government team that will accompany him in the 2024-2029 mandate.

“We are launching this council just 7 days after my proclamation as Mayor,” began the mayor, underlining that “this city could not waste even a day to continue doing good things for Livorno”.
And he continued: “In the composition of the Council, in addition to the element of continuity, there was sharing with all the political and civic forces that were part of the coalition and which put the city’s interest in the foreground.
There are two sets of issues: the two councilors who leave and the two who enter.
Simoncini and Bonciani are not part of the council but will continue to work with the Mayor.
Enter Federico Mirabelli and Michele Magnani.
There are also some changes in the delegations to work in a more organic way. The changes mainly concern the environment and public works, as well as the fact that the delegation to the port goes directly to the Mayor.
We will increasingly work at inter-sectoral tables, there will be strong sharing between departments, in the belief that team work is what has given the greatest results in the past legislature.
Next week we will launch the new macrostructure, which will be fundamental to be able to work with the relevant managers and the various councillors.
I specify that in my first mandate I was extremely Livorno-centric, I focused on the city, but I am convinced that Livorno must be more present on regional and national tables because we deserved it with the result obtained in these last elections and I intend even more carry out this work for the benefit of the city of Livorno”.
