The third edition of Scenari, a review signed by Mondadori Bookstore Modica and the Teatro Garibaldi Foundation, was presented last night in Modica.
The meeting was held in Mutika House, in Corso Francesco Crispi, with the Cathedral of San Giorgio behind it. An evocative place to make up for the delay of over an hour with which the press conference began which officially kicked off the 2024 edition, and which will be the place that will welcome and host all the protagonists of the 2024 edition of Scenari .
To do the honors of the house, Stefano Giaquinta, CEO of Mutika EMC presenting sponsor of the event which will feature 19 writers in 16 evenings in the most beautiful ‘scenarios’ of Modica. Giaquinta opened the press conference, explaining why his organization chose to support an all-Modica project, reiterating Mutika’s strong and constant commitment to the City and the extraordinary potential that Modica shows and that Mutika supports and pushes, enhancing its peculiarities.
Among the new features this year is the Scenari poster created by the artist Giovanni Robustelli who explained the meaning of that ‘ship’ that is 2024 and which travels with the tailwind of culture pushing its sails.
This year too, the event is supported by the Sicilian Region, the Free Municipal Consortium of Ragusa and the municipal administration of Modica. And from economic sponsors.
The mayor of Modica, Maria Monisteri, reiterated the strength of the cultural proposal of his city and of this event which in three years has exceeded all expectations: “Scenarios – declared Maria Monisteri – represents us and represents Modica”.
Enzo Scarsojournalist and moderator of two of the sixteen meetings starting with the one on 28 June, on the steps of St. Peter’s at 9pm, with Paolo Mieli, wanted to underline how Coop Sicilia, sponsor and partner of Scenari 2024, has shown that it truly believes in the beauty of narrate, as the director of Coop Sicilia also underlined in his greeting, Giuseppe Spadaro. All the scheduled events will be entrusted to some journalist colleagues and also to aspiring journalists. It is clear that all the other journalists from Modica are not part of Piera Ficili’s magic circle.
Tonino Cannatasuperintendent of the Garibaldi Theater Foundation, underlined how the cultural proposal of fiction has sealed, in this edition, what is now a complete partnership between Mondadori Bookstore and the Foundation.

The appointments
It begins with an extraordinary opening Monday 24 June at 7.30pm with Alessandro Baricco who will be in dialogue about his latest novel Abel (Feltrinelli) with Mattia Insolia on the splendid San Giorgio staircase.
