The Prefecture of Bari has issued a warning bulletin for the high temperatures expected in the next two days in central Puglia. The National Competence Center for the Prevention of the Effects of Heat on Health of the Department of Civil Protection has sent the bulletins of the alarm system for the prevention of the effects of heat waves on health to the representatives of the local reference centre.

According to the bulletin, for the day of Wednesday 19 Juneone was proclaimed yellow alert level 1, with a forecast of 25 degrees at 8 a.m. and 33 degrees at 2 p.m. The maximum perceived temperature will be 34 degrees.

The following day, Thursday 20 Junea alert level 2 orange, with temperatures reaching 27 degrees at 8am and 35 degrees at 2pm, with a perceived maximum of 37 degrees. Level 2 involves weather conditions that can have negative effects on the health of the population, especially for vulnerable people.

The maximum alert level is 3, colored red, which indicates real heat waves with high risk conditions that can persist for three or more consecutive days. Citizens are invited to pay particular attention, especially the most fragile categories such as the elderly, children and people with chronic pathologies.
