In Basilicata, an ordinance is in force that prohibits agricultural work during the hottest hours of the day, from 12.30 to 16.00to protect the health of workers during the summer period.
The ban is in force until August 31, 2024 and applies to all agricultural activities carried out outdoors, in areas or zones where the risk of exposure to intense heat is high.
The ordinance was issued by the President of the Basilicata Region, Vito Bardi, with the aim of preventing health risks for workers, such as heat stroke, which can occur due to high temperatures and prolonged exposure to the sun .
