Interview on the channels of Football Emotion Italy for the national team and former Cagliari midfielder Nicolò Barella. Below is an extract of the statements collected by Tuttomercatoweb.

On the move from Cagliari to Inter

“I’m not saying I expected it, but realizing that when I was in Cagliari I had been called up by the national team and therefore my career was taking off, it was logical to break away from my roots. There were many offers before and after that transfer session but I immediately embraced the Inter project and immediately accepted the challenge. It was strange at first, but at Inter they made me feel important straight away; they welcomed me as if I were part of the family, everything was simple.”

On relationships outside and inside the field and on the passion for wines

“On the pitch I have few friends, off it I have a thousand because I’m a different person. This is our passion, the adrenaline, the desire to win. My favorite wine? Saying Cannonau is too easy, even if it recalls my roots.”

On the memory of the last Europeans

“One of the best was the return match against Austria; we were out of the competition because Marko Arnautovic scored for us. After the match I started saying it was our year.”
