The agreement has been signed between the Municipalities of Trecenta and Giacciano for a shared embankment cycle path

TRECENTA (Rovigo) – The municipalities of Three hundred (leader) e They lie with Baruchella they shared the preparation of a project for the construction of a cycle path on the stretch of the Tartaro Canalbianco river that crosses the 2 territories.

The project, drawn up by Riccardo Romani of the Technical Office of the municipality of Trecenta, was recently approved by both administrations with the aim of participating in the specific tenders that will be presented from now on.

In fact, in order to diversify its tourist offer, the Veneto Region has launched numerous projects in recent years aimed at developing cycle tourism through the identification of the Venetian excursion network, the drafting of the Plan for the Enhancement of Cycle Tourism in Veneto, the executive project of implementation of the regional tourist signage plan and the drafting of cycle path master plans.

The cycle paths along the banks of the rivers are configured as natural routes both from a morphological and historical-tourist point of view and constitute an important stimulus factor for increasing cultural and recreational reuse of waterways.

The territory of the province of Rovigo is also interested in valorising cycling tourism with interventions to develop intermodal cycle routes.

Networking and uniting the municipalities of Trecenta, Giacciano con Baruchella, Canda, Castelguglielmo, Legnago, Bergantino through the creation of a connecting cycle path would allow the transit of bicycles easily and safely, connecting the Fissero-Tartaro-Canalbianco. The itinerary also meets the requirements of the Regional Cycling Mobility Plan as well as the Provincial Territorial Coordination Plan.

The planned route extends for a length of 4,600 meters of which 50% in the municipality of Trecenta and the remainder in the municipality of Giacciano, taking advantage of sections of existing roads that can be improved. If financed, it would connect the center of Trecenta with the existing river tourist mooring in the Zelo area, allowing tourism and residents to use it in complete safety. It would thus be possible to easily reach public transport, river moorings, camper parking areas and exchange car parks.

Anna Gotti – Mayor

We talked about it with the mayor Anna Gotti which confirmed the request to join the Regional call for ministerial funds, even if the granting of the contribution is not a given. “However, it is the beginning of a collaboration – says the mayor -, withholding by both Administrations indispensable from an agreement perspective to share services (for example accounting, already shared for 12 hours per week) and obtain higher scores in the rankings for access to funding”.

The mayor expressed himself on the wavelength Pigaiani Christmas (photo above) which, in turn, says: “Finally, thanks to the mayor, a relationship is starting between the two communities. We are therefore enthusiastic about the willingness to collaborate encountered, especially since the two Municipalities historically have a lot to share”. The conviction of the mayor of Baruchella, who believes in the importance of this cycle path, is such as to state that: “If the project is not financed, we will resubmit it again”.

The economic framework for the realization of the intervention foresees an expense of 900 thousand euros divided 50% between the two municipal administrations.
