AVEZZANO. A couple was blocked and arrested after looting a kiosk bar behind the train station and stealing everything. She is 41 years old and he is 34 years old, both from a nearby Marsican municipality, are accused of aggravated theft.
According to the reconstruction subsequently made by the carabinieri, the two, once inside the structure of which the entrance door had been forced, took away everything they could find: electronic equipment, including a television, a PC , one LCD monitor, 20 kg. of coffee blend, a considerable number of bottles of alcohol of all kinds and various delicacies. In a few minutes, they managed to “clean up” the kiosk by transferring most of the goods to a nearby building under construction, thinking they could recover it at a later time.
Despite themselves, they didn’t have time and were stopped by the patrol of the Avezzano Company’s mobile radio unit just as they were trying to escape on foot. Subjected to searches, they were still carrying part of the stolen goods corresponding to cash – around 100 euros -, a mobile phone and some packs of chewing gum. The stolen goods were entirely recovered and returned.
