Opening to traffic of the ‘Ciappetta-camaggio’ viaduct in Barletta

Along the SS 170dir A “Di Castel del Monte” the section corresponding to the viaduct that crosses the Ciappetta – Camaggio Canal in the Municipality of Barletta will be reopened to traffic in several phases.
In particular, the initial opening concerned the coplanar north side, the North Municipal road and the main stretch in the Barletta – Andria direction and will continue in the next few days in relation to the work completion activities.

The works in question, for a total investment of approximately 7 million euros, involved the demolition and subsequent reconstruction of the work of art on the Ciappetta – Camaggio Canal, the widening of the canal itself for a length of approximately 600 m downstream of the work of art, the adjustment of the road levels for both the main branch and the coplanar ones following the raising of the deck by approximately 2 m, the installation of new barriers adequate to current legislation and the reconstruction of the road pavement with relative horizontal signs.

Following a specific request from the BAT Prefecture and the Provincial Fire Brigade Command and sharing in various technical tables, with respect to the initially financed executive project, a technical and supplementary variant appraisal for an additional amount of approximately 600 was introduced and approved thousand euros needed to increase the section of the road platform of the coplanar north side from 6 m to 9 m in order to allow better and safer circulation of fire brigade vehicles. entering and exiting the barracks under construction and planned right next to the state road near the municipal kennel.

The works carried out will make it possible to definitively resolve the age-old problem of hydrogeological risk connected to the flooding of portions of road appurtenances and neighboring private land due to the flooding of the Ciappetta – Camaggi Canal.
