“I am politically suspending myself from the Brothers of Italy. The legal matter which, despite myself, sees me involved, has profoundly shaken me, my family as well as the many friends, leaders and militants of the party whom I thank for the affection and solidarity shown”. This is what the regional councilor says, Giuseppe Neri. “A decision taken with deep bitterness, shared and agreed with the regional and national organizational leaders of Fratelli d’Italia, necessary in order to avoid further exploitation and political speculation. My indisputable non-involvement in any form of crime stands out unequivocally from the ruling of the investigating judge, a position not at all highlighted by almost all the local and national media outlets which instead intended to give exclusive prominence to the hypotheses formulated by the Prosecutor’s Office”underlines Neri.
“Confident in the judiciary”
“However, the judicial matter now forces me to take this step, aware of the rigidity of the Brothers of Italy in the fight for legality, a rigidity that I have always appreciated and shared. I am sure that at the end of the case, my seriousness, transparency and correctness will be further certified because my trust in both the investigating and judging judiciary remains. In a word, I believe in Justice. Subsequently, in the context of the case, the national organizational leaders of Fratelli d’Italia, with whom I will continue to discuss, will evaluate any further decisions”concludes Neri.
